NEOBIOTA 2010 Conference - Public transport

Journey planner

With the Journey planner you can plan a journey in Copenhagen by bus and / or train /Metro, e.g. from your hotel to the conference venue. The website will open in Danish, but you can choose English or German in the bottom of the website.

In the left-hand menu you can choose e.g. 'Search via map', 'Departure boards' and 'Mobile planner' - It is easy to use the Journey Planner on your mobile phone. You can
choose between three ways of planning your journey, all of which have
an English version.

Tickets

You can buy tickets for both bus and train at the train and Metro stations and in the bus (they don't take credit card). At the train station and in several grocery shops and kiosks you can buy a ticket coupon (multi-ride ticket) for both bus and train with 10 rides - that's cheaper per ride. A single-ride two-zone ticket costs DKK 23 while a two-zone multi-ride ticket with ten clips (rides) costs DKK 135.

Tickets / stamped ten-trip cards for 2 and 3 zones are valid for one hour.

Buy a City Pass and travel as much as you like. With a City Pass in your pocket you are free to travel as much as you like on the Copenhagen Metro while in Copenhagen. Your City Pass is even valid for all journeys on bus, train etc. throughout Copenhagen. Buy your City Pass in the ticket vending machines on all stations in Copenhagen - and also at the Copenhagen Airport. City Pass prices: Valid for 24 hours: 70 DKK; Valid for 72 hours: 180 DKK. Your City Pass is valid for all journeys on the Metro, bus, S-trains etc. within the zones 1-4 in Copenhagen.

Metro

It is easy to travel between the conference venue, central Copenhagen
and the airport by the Copenhagen Metro. The Metro runs 24 hours a day, every day of the week.

The Copenhagen Metro has two lines which run from suburban Vanløse to Vestamager and Copenhagen Airport, both situated on the island of Amager. This makes the Metro both the fastest and cheapest way of getting from Copenhagen Airport to the city centre.

You can purchase Metro tickets from the Metro ticket machines located in all Metro stations (also on the Metro station in the airport).

The Metro trains are driverless, but there is staff on board to assist customers.

Train

The website for the trains in Copenhagen, the 'S-trains', is unfortunately only in Danish, but if you use the Journey planner mentioned above you can find the
right train.

Bus

The website for the bus company in Copenhagen, Movia, is unfortunately only in Danish, but if you use the Journey planner mentioned above you can find the right bus.

Maps

Here are som links to map services:

http://www.findvej.dk/ (in Danish - write the address in the search field)

http://map.krak.dk/ (in Danish - write the address in the search field)

http://www.degulesider.dk/kort.html;jsessionid=3E2EE4FC3305E50AA528BBCC4B3F301E (in Danish - write the address in the search field)

Planning a visit to Copenhagen

When you are planning your visit to Copenhagen, here are a few tricks and some good hints to what to see, where to go - and how to get around the city: http://intl.m.dk/Drive+the+Metro/For+tourists.aspx.
