Centre for Invasive Species - Nordic Marine Academy seminar: Introduced marine species: what should we study now and why? 27-30/10 2009 <p><strong>Espeland Marine Biological Station, Norway, October 27-30, 2009</strong>&nbsp;</p><p>New species are often recorded in the Nordic aquatic environment, and many have been introduced to European waters with some anthropogenic vector from another region. Knowledge about how such new species affect the native communities is of vital importance for management authorities. The purpose of the seminar is to bring together lecturers, PhD students and young scientists starting their research career, in order to identify important future research topics related to introduced aquatic species.</p><p>The seminar will consist of a mixture of presentations and joint discussions. Lectures will cover overviews of selected subjects, and present recent research on ecological, genetic and management topics of introduced aquatic species.
